Assalamu Alaikum! I am a Bangladeshi-American woman who fluently speaks Bangla and enjoy working with teens, individual adults, couples, and families.
I am a Licenced Graduate Marriage and Family Therapist practicing at Forward Together Counseling in the Silver Spring area. I am licensed in Maryland and DC and in network with BCBS/Care First, United, and Cigna.
I primarily practice from a narrative and solutions focused therapy perspective. I take a collaborative approach with clients and believe they are the experts of their own stories. I strive to create a safe and non-judgemental space that empowers clients to create the change they wish to see and honors their social and cultural histories and values. I am also trained in Gottman Couples Therapy (Levels 1 and 2). Cognitive Processing Therapy, and Theraplay Level 1. I specialize in helping individuals and families with anxiety, depression, relationship conflict, and life transitions and focus on utilizing strengths and lived experience to help clients reach their goals.
