Salwa Shan, LGMFT

I enjoy working with couples and families of all backgrounds, who are wanting to better connect with one another and improve communication amongst themselves. I also find it meaningful to do one-on-one work with individuals who are exploring identity, life transitions, spirituality, struggling with issues around depression or anxiety, family-of-origin challenges, and helping them set boundaries.

I strive to build strong relationships with clients and take a collaborative approach when working with them. I aim to foster a safe, non-judgmental, and empowering environment that provides clients with the ability to be authentic and open with one another and themselves. I tailor my treatment approach to what fits best for their needs. I enjoy incorporating mindfulness techniques into therapy sessions and utilizing therapy models such as CBT, Narrative therapy, Bowenian therapy, DBT, and more.

In today’s fast paced life, it is easy to lose track of the things or people in your life that matter, or to make time for the challenges you’ve been struggling with. I encourage you to take a step forward, and choose to invest in yourself, your relationships, and give yourself the time to reflect and grow. I look forward to connecting with you. I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation that can be helpful in seeing if we may be a good fit for one another. Please feel free to email me to set up a time to connect.
